what did you say back? Did you call them out on the potential dangers?

Walter: When I do get the permits, how long will the job take? Curly: Two weeks. Walter: Two weeks? Two weeks? Curly: You sound like a parakeet there. "Two weeks! Two weeks!" Walter: Well, two weeks. It- it's amazing. Curly: Amazing nothing. It'll be a regular miracle. |

final approval better damn well come from a health inspector, twp inspector, public works inspector, and your own private guy....
all though, honestly - if they DIDN'T make sure it was safe, you have an out I would imagine...what court would let them sell you an unsafe home.

Something you may want to try - it helped us. The agreed sale price may have been fair 7 months ago before THP imploded. Before you settle the mortgage company will send an assessor out to make sure the mortgage is not for more than the value of the home. I'm guessing a good (non THP paid for) aseessor will look at houses that have been sitting and rotting in barren or liquidating neighborhoods and come up with a lower assessed value. That could mean no mortgage which gives you an out. Usually you sweat something like that happening if you want a house because it can screw everything up but here it might be a good thing.
