Default Awesome news

Glad to hear you got your money back. I hope you and your fiance have better luck at finding your new dream house. I don't think you next go-round could be any worse.

Sorry had to interject a little humor there.

Flux, that is great to hear that you got your deposit back. We are still waiting to hear a blessed thing. Our contingency was broken on behalf of THP not renewing our contingency. When I called and spoke to THP, I was told, yes in fact they did breech the contract. Our paperwork was supposed to be submitted for return of our deposit (which ws marked "Escrow" but we were told it was not put there). We have not heard a blessed thing. Never once have I recieved a phone call or letter from anyone at THP. I hope that you getting your deposit returned is step to looking up. Right now I am so angry over the entire situation (I know I am not alone). Wishing you the best!

Thank you ALL for the nice and warm comments.

We never received any letters or anything from THP either. My fiance and I went at this alone just like everyone else did here. If it wasn't for this website...I probably wouldn't of known what to do except SCREAM and OVERREACT, in which I did anyways.

Our future plans are definitely on hold for right now. We are going to sit back and watch the housing market for awhile. We also are right on the cusp of being able to afford a better home, so we are going to take our time and wait. We are going to get the hell out of this **** hole we are living in (apartment) and head down to Riverwalk condo's and rent down there for 2 years, as she is planning a wedding not I..lol

I definitely learnt a lesson here, and I knew better from the start. If we are fortunate enough to do "New Construction" again, it's going to be on our terms Deposit wise..NOT the builders. If they don't like it..TOUGH TURKEY! They can keep the house!

We won't be bullied again in the sales process!

Default And that's what I always wanted

Information as to what is going on.

I'm glad that sharing it helped get what you wanted out of this. You got what you wanted and ultimately, things probably would have been much better I assume if the communication channel was open. If I remember correctly, you were actually on board initially in one of your first posts to ride this out! How different could the outcome have been if you just had an open communication?

You really have to wonder how different all this would be if THP would just communicate with their customer base on a whole.

THP's website itself hasn't even been updated since 06/10!

I am "Unfairly Burdened" with liens due to THP's inabilities to pay their bills :

~2k - B&F Insulation - A Masco Company
~11k - ServiceMark - A UGI HVAC D/B/A

I'm still waiting, THP :

http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?se...rts&id=6845195

"We are working diligently with vendors and lenders to develop a restructuring plan that includes an agreement by the mechanics lien holders to release liens against completed homes. Our discussions have been encouraging, and we intend to see that all legal action is taken to ensure that no homeowner is unfairly burdened by these liens. We continue to specifically address this issue in our discussions. Our goal is to reach the best possible outcome for all parties as soon as possible."

Note : I am not a lawyer. Any information received from a post is just that - information. It is not legal advice.
