Info on 7-13 khii clean-up project
Hey team,
Just occured to me that it might not be a bad idea for the KHII residents who are on this board and knowledgeable of the situation this coming Monday, please make an effort to meet new neighbors and spread the word about the below. Most of us on the Brook Run side of the development are aware, but you guys around the way on Centennial, Courtside, the Rouse/Chamberlain end of Canyon Creek -- I'm not if everyone got word.
So, here's the complete story, again, KHII residents please spread the word asap. Note that all of this is being directed/overseen by Township Manager Ed Wagner, and his staff/colleagues at the Township, with oversight by perssonnel from the County and the local police department.
At 7 a.m. on Monday 7/13, Waste Management Intl is dropping off dumpsters, they are allowing them to be filled free of charge anf they will be hauling them away free of charge.
At 7:30 a.m., the work crews in the orange-jumpsuits show up -- low impact, non-violent offenders/inmates whose labor is being donated by the County DOC. They are going to perform these tasks:
a) get all the tires they can find into the Townships trucks, who are delivering them to 3 local firms -- Pep Boys, Firestone, H&F Tires -- who've agreed to recycle them as a community service, absorbing the cost into their businesses. (extraordinary, really, given the general state of the economy.)
b) Collect all the other piles of stuff -- leftover, balled-up lawn netting, the enormous pile at the end of the rocked-in cul de sac, etc. These will go into the WM dumpsters, as tires and other landfill items are different streams of material as far as the trash/recycling industry is concerned. WM will be in at the end of the day to remove the dumpsters, again, free of charge as a community service.
Being the loudmouth that I am, I've notified news organizations all over Philly, several of whom seem interested in covering the activity. So, the neighborhood is possibly going to have news vans sort of following the activity.
So, please spread the word.......really, I wouldn't want to be that one neighbor walking out to the curb to get the newspaper, Tony Soprano-style in my flannel robe and boxers, and have some helmet-haired reporter stick a microphone in my face without some sort of fair warning?
Knock on some doors it's a perfect opportunity to meet the folks 4 doors down who seem nice but, paths have never crossed....please?
Thanks,
Chris
