Thanks Mary,
From my perspective, the phone calls I made to the local press, the local tire firms, etc., were not the real story, the real story was J, C, and the rest of the families up in the battle zone who took the initiative to drag that trash out of the creek bed and empty lot. The other heroes are the businesses who are taking the tires for us -- and absorbing the cost in doing so. So, I encourage all of us to take our cars to one of these businesses next time they need service, and thank these businesses directly. Here's to a tighter circling of the wagons here in KH....remember to get to those NH Township Board of Supervisors meetings each month (next one is Monday evening, July 13, at the G-ville Schoolhouse, check New Hanover Township, Montgomery County, PA for details.) These folks can't address every THP-related concern we have, but the public-works stuff is squarely in their wheelhouse. The Board seems to be made up of good folks, making the right noises about their willingness to work with us. And Ed, of course, is up to his eyeballs in this mess and as supportive/vigilant/involved as he can be. For the last BOS meeting, 5 of us showed up. When 50 of us regularly fill up that meeting room, our point will be made even more clearly to the elected officials who oversee the distribution of services and resources across the Township, and the collection of taxes that fund it. I see the next meeting is at the school house at 3189 Reifsnyder Rd, but I don't see a time. Are they typically at 6:30? Can someone confirm? And way to go clean-up committee! Great job!

Hi team,
Channel 69 News out of Allentown/Bethlehem are on their way to KH II to report upon the conditions as noted in the Pottstown Mercury article. We'll be touring the neighborhood, showing off all the natural wonder left by our pals at THP. If you see the news van going by and want to weigh in with your opinion on what needs to be done to make this neighborhood what it ought to be, wave 'em down and let 'em have it. Chris |

Hi team,
Channel 69 (WFMZ) is supposedly going to air a report on conditions in KHII during their 5:30 news telecast today. Ed from the Township was interviewed, as was I, and the camera crew toured some of the more stupifying examples of ugliness in our hood. So, we'll see what they end up with, apparently if you miss the broadcast WFMZ's Web site podcasts this stuff. There's another local reporter interested in the story now -- Sue Hohendal of Berksmont News (For those of us in KH, that's the "Community Connection" received free of charge in our driveways.) I've asked her to reach out, possibly through this Web site, to other residents of KHII who'd be willing to be quoted in a feature she is working on. This paper's "angle" would likely be more positive than most of us are feeling; keep in mind this paper isn't going to print a hatchet-job against anyone, as deserved as it may be, it just isn't what these papers do. They'd likely be focusing on the "neighbors in our area making the best of a cruddy situation" angle. But I'm asking some of you to connect with her at shohenadel@berksmontnews.com, let her know that you'd be willing to "go on record" in this manner. Truly, I'm not interested in creating attention for myself, this is a community issue and I'd love to see the coverage reflect that. Thanks!
