I found that embarrassment is the best thing. I caught a person not picking up after their dog at my old house. So, after a few times of witnessing it happen and then having to pick up the poop, I was fed up. I used a loud speaker and stood on my porch and told the person to please pick up your dog's S**t in a very loud voice a few times. This allowed the other nieghbors to notice and everyone near my home was on their poarch looking. The person was never sighted on my block again. And I never had an issue with dog poop after the incident. The neighbors were also happy because they too noticed dog poop left in their yards. I used signs with no effect. So this was my last option other then getting the law enforcement involved.
I'm not sure but isn't their a fine for not picking up after your dog in our HOA (if it still exhists)? I wonder if Upper Pottsgrove Twp. has a law on the books for this issue.
Anyways good luck and happy hunting with the mad pooper. Oh and when you catch him or her please post the pics and or video on here for all to see or just do a youtube video. That would be priceless.

Default Creative Solution!

Bottonavy, I am sure your approach would be much more effective than writing about it on this board. I can only imagine that dumper's humiliation! I think Phtucker's idea of videotaping is also fine - go after the guilty parties! Ask here for advice on how to handle it, but please don't use the boards to threaten people or pets. No one deserves to have their property soiled, and to have to worry about the kids stepping in it (or picking up diseases) is just wrong. Phtucker, I hope you do catch the hooligans, just keep your temper in check so that you don't get yourself in deeper trouble than the doggie doo!

Default Just caught up

Ok.

I think everyone got out what they wanted to accomplish.

Can we call off the troops at this point?

I do appreciate what you are trying to accomplish.

As a dog owner myself, I am frustrated in other owners that fail to pick up their dogs waste, but I am unsure if the approach you are taking is the quickest to your desired resolution.

I think some of the suggestions provided thus far are unique and may give you an alternative outlet that may provide quicker results than posting this message.

Exclamation

I live in Coddington View--as if the overgrown weeds, moldy unfinished houses, and garbage being dumped are not enough. I AM SICK OF PEOPLE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD LETTING THEIR DOGS TAKE A CRAP IN MY YARD! We work hard to take care of our home and yard. My children and I were playing outside last week and I stepped in a pile of poop! Thanks for letting your dog crap on my yard for my children to step in. If you want to be a pig--do it in your own yard. Hey, I know who you are and if it does not stop, I will make sure to visit your yard with my TWO dogs. I know who you are and I will start posting it on here. Just because our community looks like hell thanks to THP it does not mean you have to add to it! I should not have had to put a sign up in my yard. Have respect for your neighbors and the children in the community! I cannot believe I have to even address this with adults. I live on Green View Drive at the top and you know who you are! My neighbors watch your dog poop and you do not even carry a bag! Walk your dog in your own yard and let your yard smell like crap! MY KIDS should be able to play in their own YARD!!! Admin--I did put a sign up in my yard and I should not have to--many read on here so read it and get it! THP has already made my neighborhood look like crap, stay off my yard.
