Default Just called G&C

Here's some units and pricing :

10 yard unit $375 2 tons - 78 a ton overage
20 yard unit $460 3 tons - 78 a ton overage

We should also ping Santangelo Brothers / Santangelo Hauling considering what they were already able to do for the community. If nothing else, they deserve to provide quotes if they rent at all.

just talked to Dave Wertz, he is going to try to get someone from THP to be on site during our cleanup. He
thought storing some of the stuff under the condo building was a good idea, and he thought there might be some THP employes that would like to help us.

On a separate note does anyone out there have any line trimmers(weedwackers) or lawn mowers that we could use.

Default Taking back the hood

I emailed Santangeo early this afternoon and asked them to quote various size dumpsters. No reply so far.

I thought it would be fair to at least give them a shot at it.

Please post where donations can be sent and final suggested amount.

I have to admit, I am surprised that THP will actually offer manpower, etc.

Not to be a skeptic, but I'll believe it when I see it, and I really wouldn't mind being wrong in regarding this situation.

Default The hood

It was questioned why the condo residents cared if stuff was put in the condo building garage that is under construction.

I believe the reason there was concern is because it wasn't clear what was going to be put there.

When the carriage homes cleaned their area, they put some brush etc down at the entrance, and even though it was just brush some of the people in the condos were not pleased. It was still trash and it is an entrance used by the condo residents.

I believe some of the residents just didn't want to see one area being cleaned and then a bunch of trash being stored near where we live. It now appears as though it will not be a problem as long as THP approves using the area and as long as it is only equipment and not trash being put in that garage.

Default Condo's position

I was confronted tonight at a Biltmore wide meeting this evening.

I have to say I understand and appreciate the condo's perspective on this matter.

As I mentioned to them, my initial knee jerk reaction to utilizing the empty condo was one of a global concern of liability.

After conversations with them, I really understand and appreciate - regardless of duration - why they would not want to have what may be an empty area near them utilized as a collection spot for debris. It's really just a matter of perspective. Again - my initial reaction was one of the liability.. But taking a step back and looking at it from multiple angles.. I have to agree with LLL.

It's not in the best interest of the community coming together as a whole to utilize a currently uninhabited area of the development for the collection spot - its too close to something that is inhabited. And of course, this is outside of the liability issues.

I think we can all agree on that and the following :

The overall idea is sound - 100% It just needs to be solidified and worked through.

Putting it in a bit of a public eye is a good way to make sure that if we are going to try to attack it on a global level, it is able to be weighed in on at a global level.

As a carriage homeowner that help organize our community day, I apologize to any condo owners that were upset when we removed all of the dead bushed along Ashland and left them by the dumptser. It was not meant to upset anyone. It just seemed that was the logical place to put them. We all enter from forty foot road as well.
I don't want this community day to become a battle between anyone. My biggest concern is all of the 2 foot tall grass. 90% of everything else along Ashland can be put into a dumpster. Maybe we can find out who the contractors are that own some of the big equipment and we can get them to remove it. Lets get a big dumpster dropped off in front of the unfinished condo building July 8th or 9th and picked up the 13th and 14th. As a group we can decide what exactly to do with some of the "stuff".
My only goal is to make our community a better place.

Default Offline conversations and next steps

People are getting a better understanding of each others positions offline and I think we are headed towards the same goal - taking back the neighborhood and making it a more attractive, safer place to live.

So... Let's just forge ahead and keep plugging away.

I'm sure we will be able to execute and do it in a way that everyone is on board with.

So we are looking the 10th and 12th of July now?

I think that should be enough time to get donations together and get the word out as much as possible.

Did anyone get any pricing and availability response from the Santangelo Brothers by chance?

Default are you kidding

ROGROBERTS –

OKAY – let’s lay our cards on the table. NO ONE HERE should be putting out monies to save this development. End of story. Now, I know this place looks like a hell in a hand basket, but where is the township for the love of Mike???!! When is THP going to take responsibility? I am no lawyer, but bankruptcy means that they should be showing where the money (coming in) is going towards. The creditors are off theirs backs so how can they legally accept money from the association? Someone explain this to me.
